Dr. Andrew Rosen received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then returned to his home state for medical school at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. He then completed general surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Rosen then completed a Sports Medicine and Knee Reconstruction fellowship at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Rosen is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has attained Subspeciality Certification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Rosen is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters regarding sports injuries, trauma and joint replacement. Dr. Rosen has given talks and presented papers at several national meetings, including the annual American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery meeting.

Dr. Rosen himself is an active runner participating in marathons and numerous races regularly. He uses his personal knowledge of training and racing to provide treatment to professional elite runners and athletes of all levels with running-related injuries and training problems. Dr. Rosen is a member of the New York Road Runners medical staff and functions as the Medical Team Leader for the Professional Elite Runners for the ING New York City Marathon. He is member of the medical event team for many NYRRC races including the NYC Half Marathon. He lectures regularly to numerous groups on running-related injuries and their management.

Dr. Rosen is a specialist in performing advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures of the knee and shoulder. Using arthroscopic techniques, Dr. Rosen completes operations through tiny cuts on an outpatient basis that once required large incisions and hospital stays.
